No More Hiding
On overcoming self-doubt and stepping into your power
Life happens, and sometimes, we get torn down.
We lose hope, cave in, and stop finding joy in things that once brought us thrill.
Last year was that major unfolding for me.
I shed layers, and let go of needs, ideologies and shoulds, so that I could land back into what I truly desire.
Joy, love, simplicity, travel.
There are few things that make me as happy as travelling can. The excitement of experiencing something new, and the childlike curiousity to keep discovering is one of my favourite feelings in the world.
My inner child feels like it’s out to play, wander aimlessly, and expand my mind with beauty, art and new ways of thinking.
Burnout taught me the importance of deeply valuing these moments. To truly appreciate life for where I am, and not for where I think I should be.
Of course there are still milestones I would love to achieve, but joy is truly found in romanticizing life, and blessing it with gratitude along the way.
Thanking our body for all it can do, and still craves to experience.
I spent most of last year hiding.
Call it burnout, depression or a mid life crisis, all of those labels felt like the protective mechanism I needed in order to wind down, and truly heal.
To meet myself with love and compassion, and ask myself what truly matters.
It’s definitely been one of the most heart wrenching experiences of my life, but also one that has brought me tonnes of clarity.
A closer understanding as to who I am, and how I truly wish to live my life.
The heartbreak, the swings and the negative feedback from some clients, hit me closely at my core wound - “I am not good enough”.
It made me doubt myself, and lose all sense of meaning and hope.
Until recently, where I’ve started rebuilding that.
I am relearning to appreciate the light that is inside me.
To choose joy over fear, and courage over comfort.
A light that has been dimmed by my own insecurity.
A heart that has been healing, yet craves to move freely.
To be it’s fullest self.
To be seen in all it’s glory, just like a medieval city and it’s cobblestone streets.
I am ready to break free.
I believe in me.

Here’s one of my favourite scenes from the movie “Michael”. Love the way his mom empowers him to honour his light:

P.S. I highly recommend this movie - I had goosebumps along the way.

Love the line, I believe in me 🫶
